This week we have been using the part-whole model to explore how 2 parts make a whole. We have used this throughout the week in many different ways. We will continue to use this when exploring number bonds to 10 and beyond.
We have gathered to pray The Rosary together. This week we have looked at the Joyful Mysteries. We were able to recall some of these stories such as The Presentation and The Nativity. We have made a Rosary sheet to help us remember the stories from the Joyful Mysteries.
This week we have explored how to count in 2s. We have worked together in groups and used our shoes to help us! We represented this with number cards, numicon and with pairs of shoes! We continued to practise this in class by playing games and using our interactive white board.
We have enjoyed talking about our local area. We have been learning about physical and human features. Last week, we explored houses in our area and have talked about different types of houses. This week, we have shared with each other what type of house we live in.
We are going to create our own piece of art, inspired by the work of John Coatsworth. Before we begin to create our painting, we have been exploring how to mix primary colours to create new colours. We have also enjoyed creating tints by adding colour to white paint.
