Home Learning Year 1

Year 1 Home Learning – Thursday 7th January

Good Morning,

Thank you for all of your fantastic work yesterday. I apologise for the website crashing so I know a lot of you are running behind with your work.

I have reduced the workload by making English optional today. If you would like to do it, it is still attached.

For today’s work, you have Maths, Phonics, PE and History.

I hope you enjoy the work.

Maths

For Maths we are carrying on with place value, counting one more and one less than a given number.

Please have a go at these questions: One more one less lesson 2

English

For English, you will need to use the plan you completed yesterday to write your recount. Recount lesson 2

Phonics

Today we are learning a new sound!

For this er sound, I would like you to have a go at this game – https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/buried-treasure

If you follow the link, it is phase 3, +er

To log onto phonicsplay, the resources have been made free.

You may log in with the following details:

username: jan21

password: home

History

We are starting a new topic in History called ‘All Aboard!’ Today we will be learning about George Stephenson who was the inventor of the first steam train.

I have uploaded a PowerPoint which will explain more about who George Stephenson is. You can also use your computer or iPad to search for ‘George Stephenson facts ks1’ and find some interesting facts about him and what made him so important to our lives today. All about George Stephenson powerpoint

When you find these then please fill in the factfile with these facts. You can even colour in the picture of him as well! Factfile

As an extra task, see if you can find the most interesting fact you can about George Stephenson and write it down.
