In collective worship Year 2 thought about how we can help people in need. They thought about the work @GFoodbank do and the impact our Harvest collection will have on people in our local community in need.
Following our history research, finding out what our grandparents played at the seaside, we decided to play one of these games in PE ‘Piggy in the middle’. The children had great fun and continued to develop their throwing and catching skills!
Year 2 used bean bags to rehearse throwing and catching. They watched the bean bag at all times to help catch it. They explored throwing the bean bag up and counting how many claps they could do before catching it as well as turning before catching it
Year 2 celebrated the month of Mary in collective worship. They thought about Mary’s qualities; loving, kind, generous, listens, encouraging, understanding. They thought how their mum has the same qualities as Mary and thanked God for their mum.
Year 2 loved using the musical instruments this week to play the pulse of the music. The children enjoyed exploring all the different instruments at first and were amazed at some of the sounds they made!
