Year 2

Owls in School

Owls in School

This week, we had a visit from our special guest, Paul O’Neil, The Owl Man. The children from all year groups were fascinated by Paul’s collection of owls, which he kindly brought into school. The children were able to ask many wondering questions about these beautiful creatures.

Beginning a new day!

Beginning a new day!

In RE  Year 2 thought carefully about a good way to begin each new day – with prayer. The children wrote their own morning prayers and shared them in collective worship. They thanked God for the new day and asked for help and strength to be like Jesus.

Colour Mixing

Colour Mixing

In art Year 2 have been exploring colour mixing. The children mixed a variety of warm and cold colours and were very surprised at some of the new colours they made. The children will use their colour mixing concentric circles to create the famous Kandinsky’s painting.

e-Safety. Sharing Pictures

e-Safety. Sharing Pictures

Year 2 have been learning what happens when pictures are shared on the internet. The children were surprised to find, that by sharing a picture of Mr Patterson’s dog (Dave), to just 3 friends in class, eventually all of the children could potentially get a copy.

Eventually, our line of shared pictures got too long and we had to move out of the ICT suite and onto the Key Stage 1 yard.
