Year 2 Home Learning – Monday May 11th

Hello Year 2,

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for your wonderful pictures that contributed to our ‘Spreading Rainbow Joy’ video. If you haven’t watched it yet, please do so by clicking on the link below and kindly share this with others around you. I’m sure you will agree that it truly inspires and lifts the hearts of all that see it.
Well done children and families of St. Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Look out for the next Rainbow challenge and keep sending in your fantastic rainbow pictures.

Today your English task involves writing a postcard. I’d like you to imagine you are a child celebrating the first VE day on 8th May 1945. You will write a postcard to tell a missing family member all about your celebrations. I’ve given you some ideas and things for you to think about on the instructions page. It may also be useful to watch this short film of the VE Day celebrations (It is a silent video).

ENGLISH 11.05   Postcard

In maths I’d like you to rehearse your addition skills. I have made a short video to remind you of the strategies to help you. There are also a couple of problems for you to have a go at solving.

Finally, I have prepared your next set of spellings for you to learn. Please keep working on these words. It is important that you spell them correctly in all of your work.

Have a lovely day, work hard, have fun and stay safe.

Mrs Gourley 🙂

    • Brilliant Declan! I’m glad you like using just numbers to add.
I’m sure you’re really good at it too!
      Keep working hard
      Mrs Gourley 🙂
