Year 2 Home Learning – Tuesday 19th May

Good morning Year 2!

Today in English you will sort a collection of verbs into the past tense and the present tense. Remember that the present tense means it is happening now and the past tense means it has already happened. Once you’ve sorted the words I’d like you to choose at least 5 pairs of verbs and write them in sentences; 1 in the past tense and 1 in the present tense.

In maths we’ll be looking at 2D shapes. I’d like you to remind yourself of the 2D shapes and their properties we have looked at in class by looking through the PowerPoint presentation. You’re then going to complete the properties sheet before having a go at the challenge; using up to 10 straws how different many 2D shapes can you make?

Finally, I know that many of you are very keen to be using joined writing. So I have decided to create a selection of videos to teach you how to form some of the letters that we haven’t yet learnt in class.

It is VERY important that you watch these videos carefully and ensure that you form the letters correctly. Today’s video is a recap of the letters we have already learnt in class. Please go through this carefully so you are ready to start learning new letters later in the week.

Have a great day!

Mrs Gourley 🙂
