Year 2 Home Learning – Wednesday 1st July

Good morning Year 2!

Wow! It’s the 1st July already. This year is going SO fast. It only seems like a few days since you were all in school back in March.

Today in English we will continue with our story. We will write the middle part of our story. Read through your plan first before you read the middle part of my story and before you begin to write yours.

Lighthouse Story Middle

In maths we will continue to look at money. We will look at all the coins and think about different ways to make different values. There are lots of ways to make different values using a variety of coins. I’d like you to explore today and find as many different ways as possible of making the values. However, you’re not allowed to just use 1p coins! Look at the video first.

Then you can choose to complete some of the activities or you may want to give them all a go!

WAYS TO MAKE 7p   WAYS TO MAKE 10p   WAYS TO MAKE 15p   WAYS TO MAKE 20p

Tomorrow we’ll look at making some larger values.

As an extra task today I have included a ‘how many words’ challenge.

HOW MANY WORDS 9

Also you may want to have a go at some artwork. Today I have included a link to drawing a seagull, seeing as they are the stars of the story we’ve been reading for the past couple of weeks! Take your time and you’ll probably need to keep pausing the video throughout.

Have a great day!

Mrs Gourley 🙂
