Year 2 Home Learning – Thursday 22nd October 2020

Good morning!

I have set you some tasks for today that you can find below.

I have uploaded all of your tasks in separate documents that you can find under each subject heading.

The email address to submit your work to is You can just email me a picture or scanned copy of your work.  This work can be submitted via email at any point throughout the school day (between 9.15 – 3.15 pm). In English we will be looking at conjunctions. These are words that we can use to extend a sentence to include extra details.

Today we will be looking at ; when   if   that   because

I have given you some sentence starts linked to Mr. Grinling. You must extend the sentences using the conjunctions. Write the sentences out below.

Subordinating conjunctions


In maths we are continuing to look at number bonds. We have looked already at number bonds to 10 and 20 using the tune to ‘Frere Jacques’

Today we will be singing the same tune but looking at number bonds to 100.

50 + 50     40 + 60     30 + 70     30 + 70     20 + 80     10 + 90 all make 100, all make 100!

Can you complete the bar models and write two addition and two subtraction calculations to go with each bar model.

In history we have been looking at seaside holiday clothes from the past. Please look through the pictures and question in the slides below.

Then on the separate sheet draw a picture of a lady and man wearing the clothes they would have worn to the seaside. Describe the clothes they are wearing and how they might have felt wearing them.
