Year 4 Home Learning – Thursday 18th June

Hello Year 4! Happy Thursday…

Today in English, we are going to look at how we can use different types of conjunctions to create complex and interesting sentences. The worksheet has a number of sentences and all you have to do is select the most appropriate conjunction for each part of the sentence.

In Maths, we are looking at working our fractions of a quantity of money. Remember, we have already done this in class and in our home learning, the only difference is this time we are doing it with money. Remember the rule:

First divide by the denominator (bottom number) and then multiply by the numerator (top number). For the trickier ones it will help you to first convert (change) the pounds into pence.

If you are finding it difficult to work out the division calculation, simply divide the total quantity of money, into the number of groups identified in the denominator. For example: if you are looking to find 3/4 of £8. You would first divide £8 into 4 equal groups and then work out how much you have in 3 groups.
