Year 5 Home Learning – Monday 11th May

Good morning Year 5,

I hope you have all enjoyed the weekend.

Thank you for your wonderful pictures that contributed to our ‘Spreading Rainbow Joy’ video. If you haven’t watched it yet, please do so by clicking on the link below and kindly share this with others around you. I’m sure you will agree that it truly inspires and lifts the hearts of all that see it.
Well done children and families of St. Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas.
Look out for the next Rainbow challenge and keep sending in your fantastic rainbow pictures.
Your home learning tasks for today.
 Maths task:
I would like you to complete the following division questions. In Year 5 we need to be able to express our remainders in different ways, sometimes as a decimal and other times as a fraction. I would like you to practice these. Here are two helpful videos to remind you of how we did this in class:
English task:
Today I would like you to identify and use direct and indirect speech. I have provided a helpful PowerPoint to remind you of the differences. Once you’ve worked through the PowerPoint, answer the questions provided.
Enjoy your home learning for today.
One last thing, to brighten up your day, why don’t you have at drawing the most iconic cartoon character of all time, Mickey Mouse. I’ll post my attempt in my home learning post tomorrow.
Take care,
Mr. Craig
