Good morning Year 5.
Here are your home learning tasks for today.
I would like you to use the skills that you developed yesterday. Today we are calculating fractions of money. There are three different worksheets, each is more challenging than the last. You don’t have to complete all three sheets but I would like you to really push yourself with the more challenging work.
Helpful hint: You must convert the money into pence. For example £4 must be changed to 400 pence before you find the fraction of the amount.
1/4 of £4
1/4 of 400p
Remember the rule from yesterday – divide by the denominator and multiply by the numerator.
400 divided by 4 = 100
100 multiplied by 1 = 100
Answer = 100 pence or £1.
Following on from yesterday’s task, I would like you to complete the following questions and finish my story. I have included a success criteria so you have some guidelines to add into your writing.
Using ‘Butterfly Breaths’ below, try to have a calm moment throughout today. It may feel funny to begin with but once you really concentrate on your breathing, you’ll soon feel renewed and relaxed.
Measuring your pulse is important to help you understand how hard your body is working while exercising. Here is a guide to completing this task.
It is important to measure your pulse before and at the end of an activity, and finally after your cool down. Make sure you record your results in a table.
Take care everyone,
