Good morning Year 5.
Here are your tasks for today.
Today I would like you to practice multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000. The following YouTube link will remind you of the important process and understanding behind these calculations. In the video they refer to the ones as ‘units’, remember these are ones.
I have also included a place value chart so you can move the numbers from column to column yourself.
I would like you to continue your work from yesterday. Using what you have developed, complete my story in your own words. I would like you to include a relative clause somewhere in your writing.
Relative clauses are clauses starting with the relative pronouns who, that, which, whose, where, when.
Example: The girl, who wore a yellow dress, crept through the forest.
I would like you to try a VE Day code cracking activity. Today’s extra task is all about using Morse code. Afterwards, you could create your own message for your parents or siblings to crack using the code. Enjoy!
Finally, I’ve loved receiving your ‘Rainbow’ inspired work this week. Some of you have used the rainbow colours within some of the work I’ve set. Check out this brilliant Rainbow 3D illusion by Sophie. Well done!
Take care everyone, keep up the fantastic work.
