In nursery as part of our Religious Education programme we have been learning about babies and baptism. We have looked after our babies in the home corner and visited the baby clinic to have the babies weighed and measured. We have made pictures in cutting and sticking of all the items we need for a baby.
We prepared to take one baby to church to be baptised and we now know that this is to welcome the baby into God’s family. Before going to church we baked a cake ready for the celebration afterwards. We all picked a family member that we would like to be and took our baby to church. Mrs Wilders told us about the baptism service and about the priest. We learnt about the font, the holy water, the white garment and the candle that is given to the baby. We all posed for a family photograph before returning to nursery for the family celebration.
