Summer Reading Challenge Update

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge theme is Silly Squad and Gateshead Council have a fantastic range of free online events for children to take part in over the Summer.  Mondays at 11am starting Monday 20th July.
The first event is Monday 20th July , 11am. BIG SCIENCE. Book on eventbrite.
The full programme is below – it’s guaranteed to be fun and silly.

Monday 20th July –  Sweet Science with Big Science

Monday 27th July – Draw along with Illustrator Liz Million

Monday 3rd August – Craig Bradley Fun with Words

Monday 10th August – Kitchen Chemistry with Big Science

Monday 17th August – Draw along with Illustrator Liz Million

Monday 24th August – Craig Bradley Fun with Words

The Summer Reading Challenge website  https://summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/join-in is free to access.

The website features video content, games, quizzes and digital and downloadable activities to  encourage children to take part in the Challenge at home.

In Gateshead you can download the Borrowbox App to get  ebooks and eaudio books direct to your phone, tablet or laptop completely free of charge. Or why not ring and order a collection of brilliant books from Gateshead Libraries Ring & Read service

From Monday 20th July, children can collect a Summer Reading Challenge collectors card and stickers from Gateshead Libraries offering the Ring and Read Service

Children who complete the challenge will receive a Summer Reading Challenge Medal at the end of the Summer.
