Jack and the Beanstalk

Reception had some visitors into their class during lunch time on Monday. They found some giant footprints and a bag with some golden coins and a letter.

The letter was from Jack saying he had dropped the golden coins while the Giant was chasing him. He asked us to keep the coins safe and stop the Giant from stealing them.

We talked about what we could do and decided we needed to build a trap to stop the Giant from getting into our classroom and pinching back the coins.

Everybody designed their own trap to catch the Giant and then we worked in groups, using everyone’s ideas to build our traps outside.

The children decided what they needed to use and how they would build it. They had a great time building their traps and keep checking them in case they have caught the Giant!
