Year 2 loved our celebrating international day today. The children all came to school dressed in the colours of the Mexican flag – green, white a red. Some children came dressed in typical, traditional Mexican clothes – a brightly coloured poncho and sombrero!
We discovered that the language spoken in Mexico is Spanish. We were very lucky to have Mrs Innerdale who taught us some words and phrases in Spanish. We also played some games and learnt to sing “Twinkle, twinkle” in Spanish too.
We then many fun activities for the rest of the day.
We made fajitas wraps with Mrs Humble.
We made Mexican flags.
We also began to complete some sunset images with a silhouette of a cactus plant.
Finally we took part in a fun obstacle course with the Year 1 children. We even had to do a Mexican dance!
