Fire Poems

Year 2 have written some fabulous fire poems this week. Mrs Lamb lit the fire in the fire pit and the children looked carefully at the flames. The children created a bank of adjectives to describe the flames; sparkling, crackling, fluttering, floating, twisting, twirling, zooming, dancing, racing, darting, dashing.

The children then used these adjectives to write some descriptive sentences that include similes; “Flames fluttering like a colourful butterfly in a spring garden.” “Flames dancing like a beautiful ballerina.”

These sentences were used to write their poems.
