Year 2 were very lucky this morning to welcome Mrs Pentland; a nurse who works in the children’s hospital at the RVI hospital in Newcastle.
Mrs Pentland began by telling us about the different coloured uniforms that a nurse wears. She told us about some of the equipment that a nurse may use; a fob watch, a torch, a stethoscope, surgical gloves, surgical mask, hair net. The children were able to explore using some of these as well as try on some of the uniforms.
Everyone in Year 2 enjoyed the visit and were able to compare nursing today to nursing in the time of Florence Nightingale.
