Collective Worship – Feeling Anxious

Collective Worship – Feeling Anxious

Together Year 2 planned and led their own collective worship about feelings. The children specifically focused on feeling anxious.

The children began by thinking about what they would like to have on their focal point and how they would like to gather. Then together we searched for a Bible quote about feeling anxious. The children liked the quote from Philippians 4: 6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything. Always pray and give thanks to God. He will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. God will always be with you and help you to be strong.”

The children then thought about how we would respond to the word and came up with the idea of carefully dropping a small pebble into a bowl of water, as we do this say what makes us feel anxious.

Following this, the children thought about the mission and decided that they would try to talk to Jesus whenever they feel anxious.

Finally the children selected their hymn to sing.

Following the planning process, the children then set up the focal point and the led the worship. Well done Year 2!
