This week, Year Three started a new class reading book, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S . Lewis.
We began by finding out some facts about the author before reading the first chapter and designing our own impressions of Narnia, based on the description from the book.
Some of the children then used sections of the first chapter during guided reading. They focused on using intonation and expression during dialogue as well as the effect of punctuation such as exclamation marks and hyphens.
We also talked about our opinions of the Characters we have met so far! We are looking forward to exploring the world of Narnia in the next few weeks!
