Identify parts of a plant

Today Year Three started their new science topic ‘Plants’.

We looked at the main parts of a plant and their function. We then discovered that a plant has both male and female organs!

The male and female parts of a plant work together to produce new seeds, with help from bees and other insects. This process is called pollination.

We acted out the process of pollination and each took on a part of the plant or an insect!

We then went out into the school grounds to see the parts of the plant up close and compare how the parts are different shapes and sizes depending on the type of plant.
