Wassily Kandinsky

Year Three have enjoyed learning about the Russian artist, Wassily Kandinsky.

Kandinsky was inspired through his love of music. The children listened to music by the composer Richard Wagner – a favourite of Kandinsky. They drew and painted pictures using the music to imagine shapes and lines.

They then also painted a picture in the style of a famous Kandinsky picture – concentric rings. By mixing colours, the children made the pictures unique. They used white paint to create different tints.
