Year 3 spent a lovely day, as part of our topic on Romans, at Segedenum.
We spent the morning learning how to be a Roman soldier. First of all, we learnt how to march and then we looked at what Roman soldiers wore, some of us were lucky enough to try some of the costumes on. We didn’t realise just how heavy it would be.
After this, we spent some time polishing our shield and learning how to defend ourselves with the help of our spears and shields.
After lunch we got the chance to explore the Roman ruins and the rest of the museum.
