Kandinsky meets the Vikings!

Kandinsky was a famous artist. He is remembered for a piece of artwork called ‘Squares with Concentric Rings.’

In Year 4 we are learning about the Anglo Saxons and Vikings. We have used the stimulus of Kandinsky’s artwork to design our own ‘Squares with Concentric Rings around a Viking Helmet!’ We have worked hard to develop our skills and used the medium of paint and pastels to portray our work. We built each layer up slowly. We had to be very careful and needed a steady hand!

We painted the Viking helmets in a special gold, silver or bronze paint. Look at the finished pieces of artwork! We are very proud of what we have achieved.
