Land of Oak and Iron

Year 4 had some special visitors in today. Staff from Groundwork North East came and spoke to them about the Land of Oak and Iron project. The children explored the heritage of our local area and investigated why living here is so special. They found out about all of the items made from iron and oak which was historically sourced in the North East and made their own Sovereign of the Sea. Year 4 will investigate this further later in the week by visiting Path Head Water Mill.
