During computing today, Year 4 have been building their own game based on the Crossy Road App. The children began by programming a number of charatcers that moved back and forth across the screen, this created the obstacles within their game. Then, they added their main character and created an algorithm that instructed their main character to perform an interesting function when it bumped into an obstacle. The children then added a move function to their algorithm using one of the iPad’s various sensors which would move and manipulate their main character. Finally, Year 4 explored different ways of ending their game once their character had reached its destination.
