Year 4 World Book Day Collective Worship

Year 4 World Book Day Collective Worship

This week, to celebrate World Book Day the children in Year 4 planned and led a Collective Worship about the importance of books. We gathered together in a rectangle to reflect the shape of a book and began by thinking about the importance of the Bible and how it helps us to live good lives. The children read from Luke 11:1-4, which recounts how Jesus taught his disciples to pray, giving them the words which have become the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ we say today. We thought about how these words bring us joy and the knowledge of how much the Lord loves and cares for us.

Each person then responded by sharing the title of their favourite book and why it is special to them. We learned that many of us chose our favourite book because of the joy we get when we share it with others. Our mission going forward is to play our part in the Share a Million Stories Challenge and read an excerpt of our favourite book to our friends and family with the aim of sharing our joy and happiness with them.
