On Friday, the school celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday. We were invited to come into school dressed up as royalty or in the colours of the Union Jack. During the day, we found out more about our Royal Family and had to decide which face belonged where on the family tree, some of us were very confused at first!
Following this, we looked very closely at a portrait of the Queen and were given a piece of the portrait to draw and then paint. We had to work very closely with the other children around us, to make sure that each piece could be connected together like a jigsaw.
In the afternoon, we had to prepare for our picnic. Each of us had to make our own sandwich and decorate our picnic bags. We then went outside as a whole school to sing the National Anthem whilst the flag was raised. Finally to end our day, we all gathered together on the grass and tucked into our picnic bags!
