Compass bearings

As part of their Geography work, Year Six have been looking at bearings on maps and in the real world. Today they tried for the first time to take bearings from points within the school grounds.

 

They remembered the key points of holding the compass flat, pointing in the direction of travel, turning the bezel to North and reading the bearing carefully.
