Today Carys and Grace from Year 2 helped Miss Wilson present our Celebration Assembly broadcast and assisted Mr Patterson with his behind the scenes technical magic.
Miss White also presented Miss Wilson with her very own Gold Headteachers Award, for all of her wonderful work with the children who sang at the 190th Jubilee Mass at Church this week. What a wonderful way to end a fantastic half term.
Year 2 planned a harvest collective worship in our school chapel. They created the focal point with autumn colours. An autumn prayer was read as the children placed a leaf around the focal point. They thanked God for people who work with food; farmers, factory workers and cooks .
Year 2 have studied a map of London from 1666 in history. The children were able to use the map to identify many features; River Thames, Pudding Lane, Samuel Pepys home, the area destroyed by the fire, the narrow streets and the houses very close together.
Tonight we celebrated the anniversary of St. Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas Church, it was the 190th Jubilee Mass. Bishop Byrne joined us and our children had the privilege of reading the bidding prayers during Mass and then singing the Hail Mary.
In computing, Year 2 were challenged to help their robot move through the factory by composing an algorithm. The children needed to think carefully about which way the robot was facing and only use forwards, turn left, turn right, pick-up and drop within their algorithm.
