As part of our Erasmus project Year 2 learnt about the history of Afternoon Tea. It began in 1840 when a member of the Royal Family needed a sandwich at 4pm because she was hungry. Today people enjoy afternoon tea as a celebration treat. Year 2 made their own sandwiches.
Today Year 2 thought about the disciples meeting Jesus on the road to Emmaus. They were surprised that they didn’t recognise Jesus at first. The children thought about what they would say if they were to meet Jesus. many children would thank Jesus.
In science Year 2 planned and carried out an investigation to test which paper would make the best blinds in a dolls house. The children decided to hold the paper up to the light, if it blocked the light out, they knew this would make a good blind.
