Victorian Cooking

We are learning about The Victorians in History, and luckily Chef Nick Fairley was able to come into school to show us some traditional Victorian recipes.

We all had different jobs to do and together we produced a Beef Stew with Dumplings. It was delicious and the dumplings seemed to be particularly popular. While we were preparing the ingredients Nick made some Gruel for us to try. It is made from left over oat powder, water and salt.  It was not nice at all!!
