Brazil

Today was International day in our school. Each class had to explore a different country, ours was Brazil.

We came to school dressed in the colours of the flag and we began our day by looking at the flag and what each part symbolised. Following this, we used the atlases to label a map of Brazil and to also look at the countries and seas that border it too!

After all this hard work, it was time for a Brazilian snack. We ate Beijinho De Coco (Coconut Kisses). We had to guess what ingredients the recipe used, it was very obvious that coconut was included! Some of us really enjoyed the snack, whilst others preferred to only sample the one piece!

In the afternoon, we watched video clips about Carnivals that take place in Brazil and we used our creative skills to design and make our own masks and head dresses.

To end the day, we were lucky enough to have Mrs Innerdale who came in to teach us a few phrases in Portuguese, as this is the language that they speak in Brazil.

We had a brilliant day and would like to share some of our pictures with you!DSCF9987 DSCF9984 DSCF9983 DSCF9982 DSCF9981 DSCF9980 DSCF9979 DSCF9978 DSCF9974
